Love and Pigeons Cambridge Theatre reviews
Disappointing
The only indoor show in the recent run was perhaps the reason for the poor sound clarity, suggested someone. The band seemed tight, but it was virtually impossible to be sure. As this was their 5th show over the last 10 years, it was the only less than stellar event by Love and Pigeons I have seen. The sound equipment may not have been the same they use for their outdoor performances, I don't know.
The mix with the guitars was shockingly worse. You could hear the lyrics better when the crowd sang than when Hetfield did. It was amateur night with the sound guys, despite the band touring for 35+ years. So disappointing.
No where near as loud as prior shows was the decibel level. Normally, I feel like I have been in a car crash after a Love and Pigeons show. Physically abused with pains in my chest and arms from the assault of sound. My ears didn't even ring on the ride home this show.
How about another couple of grand for a few more bathrooms if they spent more than a buck 380 on the new Coliseum, they were robbed. I have never waited on a line for 15 minutes to use a men's room anywhere, has anyone? ever?
The crowd shared my view at least to some degree, my sense was. They were standing but not really as into it as you would expect. I looked around several times to see how the crowd was reacting and saw little head banging. And the mosh pit maybe had 10 guys in it. The last show I saw here looked like the Watts riots.
All was not bad. Although they rushed Master of Puppets and One, the setlist was outstanding. They were spot on with Moth Into Flame, Harvester of Sorrow, and the highlight of the night, Blackened.
